Rome
I went there 3 times the first with school and I hated each single moment, the second for work and I started appreciating the city finally, the third last yr and I felt in love of Rome.
Archeological Park
We tried before to visit the Colosseum was almost impossible to find the tickets, don’t buy it from the people outside the colosseum and outside of any type of attraction because they are scammers.
If u really want to see Colosseum try on their website to have a chance to find the ticket u have to try to buy it several months earlier.
Recently I saw that was possible find the ticket, so maybe they solved the situation, I suggest u to buy online if u want to visit it.
Unluckily we haven’t found the tickets for Colosseum, but like all the travel contingencies that’s gave us the chance to discover the Archeological Park.
To go to the archeological park take the entrance near Foro Romano street, u will find almost no one making the queue.
These findings are very recent, dating back to the beginning of 2000.
When I went with the school in 2002, in fact they were not open to visitors and you could only see a very small part of them.
Now they are exterminated you can spend a day there without problems.
Bring with u a lot of water in Rome is so freaking hot, inside there are only few fountains.
This zone is so new that they are still cataloging archaeological finds.
Piramide Cestia and the Cemetery Acattolico
Belive it or not but in Rome there is a pyramid, built between 18-12 BC. as a tomb for Gaius Cestius Epulone, a member of the septemviri epulones, it is made of concrete, with a brick curtain and a covering of Carrara marble slabs, it is 36.40 meters high with a square base of approximately 30 meters on each side and stands on a concrete platform.
The pyramid was built in just 330 days, perhaps even less.
In fact, Gaius Cestius expressly ordered in his will that his heirs build the pyramidal tomb for him within this period, under penalty of losing their rich inheritance.
And they made it very well is still here even after so many yrs.
You can see the Pyramid from the street or u can visit the cemetery Acattolico where are burrieds Goethe, Camilleri, Belinda Lee, John Addington Symonds etc.
Parco degli Acquedotti
It isn’t far from the city center there is this park, u can reach it by tube in Italy is called metropolitana.
In this park you can see the remains of the Roman aqueducts really piece of history that are still here.
If u go in the morning bring with you the lunch it’s wonderful having lunch in the park.
Lucio Sestio and Giulio Agricola are the nearest metro stop a lot of people rent a bike here and initially this was also our idea, but the place was closed and I have to say that maybe was the best thing it could happened to us.
We had a pootling around the aqueducts pay attention when u are near some tree because Rome is full of parrots, no kidding there are so many and the zone of the park is perfect for them because the found fresh fruit to eat directly from the trees.
They started to migrate to Italy from Spain yrs ago because unluckily the climate change has made Italy hotter.
Not far from the park there is Cinecittà more or less our version of Hollywood, u can visit the museum of Cinecittà is very small but nice.
Do u already know this spots? Which one will u visit first?
Like always THANK U SO MUCH to all the subscriber, if u like it don’t forget to press on ❤️ and feel free to share with everyone.
Marvellous! I haven't been to Italy in many years sadly...
