Where to buy the best gift ever.

I already talked to u about my wonderful city, when I was written about my fav restaurant and hidden secret of Bologna I thought: “I should talk about the best shops in Bologna” of course the majority is food related, I’m still Italian 🇮🇹 what u pretend?😂😂😂.

Atti is an institution of Bologna since 1880 can u believe it?
We have a lot of historical shops and restaurants in Bologna.
In this incredible store u can find fresh bread every day, cakes, biscuits and of course here u can also find tortellini and different types fresh pasta.
I always found great it’s the high quality of products, I go here since I was a child I always find different things every time , sometimes I found a focaccia with cheese and tomatoes another time is a different type of bread or a new dessert.
If u are on travel and u want to bring with u a piece of Bologna they sell box of Tortellini and bottle of broth, what's better than it to remember ur holiday in Bologna?

Gilberto

Gilberto started their story in 1905 (I told u we are full of historical shops) like wine shop, now thery have 2 store in the same street and I suggest u to visit both.
The first is in via drapperie, 5 they sell wine of course and everything u could dream: chocolates, balsamic vinegar (Aceto Balsamico di Modena), spirits ans jams.
If u love cooking I suggest u to buy a bottle of Alchermes and one of Mandorla Amara so when u will miss Bologna u could make at home some typical recipe.
In the second shop instead u can find everything for the house: particular soaps, oven mould, decorations, colorful paper, say one thing and at 99% they will have it.

Simoni

Simoni is less historic than the others in fact they opened in 1960, it is a paradise for cured meats, cheese and anytipe of vegetables in oli and vinegar. It's the ideal place where u can buy something to eat at Osteria Mirasole, my fav cured meat here are of course Mortadella and Salame Zia it's a type of salame flavoured with white wine and garlic.
They also sell pieces of Parmigiano Reggiano and mortadella packed, there is a better gift than it?😜

Calzolari

This is the baker of my childhood, I grew up with their bread I really tasted every one of their experiments and I was one of the first fans of the "ciccioli del fornaio" they are puffed and crunchy cereals sweetened united together with agave syrup you absolutely have to try them they are delicious (they are my drug 😍😍).
Every month they always propose a different type of bread, here you can also find slices of pizza, brioches and packets of biscuits.
The bakers of Calzolari like to experiment so you will always find new things every day.

Drogheria della Pioggia
This is the the oldest shop in Bologna it’s in the city since the 1610, yeah they opened 414yrs ago, can u believe it?
When u go throw the door it’s like if u are on a time machine u can see the story of this shop even from the racks.
But… what they sell?
More or less EVERYTHING!
U can go here to buy Balsamic vinegar from Modena, chocolates, a bottle of Negroni, candies, candy fruit, different kind of spirits, spices, soaps and a lot of particular cake mould and pastry tools.
I always visit this when I want treat myself or when I want make wonderful present.
Double Trouble

Double Trouble is a clothing store that aims to support a circular and sustainable fashion culture, based in particular on the reuse of materials.
All accessories are created with waste leather, handcrafted from design to final creation.
So it's the ideal place to find unique pieces and they also make tailor-made clothing and accessories, just request it in advance to have it created especially for you.
The shop was founded by two twin sisters from Bologna of African origin, you can see from their clothes and accessories how they managed to mix Western fashion with Afro-Gabonese fashion, in a perfect union.

Calamario

It’s a small shop full of everything for the house, they have: housewares, textiles, christmas decorations, flowers made with silk and the most wonderful greeting cards.
Inside the store they have the best shops assistant ever, two wonderful cats that wander or sleep on the shelves of the shop, I love going there during Christmas because you see them come out from under the Christmas trees.
About Christmas during this period the store looks like an enchanted village, it is filled with Christmas trees and incredible decorations that come only from the best producers, sometimes I like to treat myself to a small decoration.

I've been going here practically since I was born, it’s where I bought several kit to make: soap, candle and how to paint bottle of glass.
The shop it’s extremely small how u can see from the pic.
Even if it is so small it can make all ur artistic dream comes true.
Sometimes I went inside simply without a clear idea about what I will draw or made and they always help me to find a good idea, and other times I go only to buy some new pencils.
I hope this shop will stay open forever.

This shop like the other sell everything to satisfay ur desire of art!
It’s bigger than the other one and here you can find pencils, paint, markers of all kinds, once I saw a beautiful and small set of pencils that was supposed to be mine so I went in to buy it and.. it cost "only" €240 and it was even on sale 😅, unfortunately I left it there and decided to stay "humble" and I took two normal pencils for €3 I had to satisfy my desire to create something with new pencils.
